County Kerry, known as the 'Kingdom' is a coastal county located in the extreme south-west of Ireland in the province of Munster. Tralee is the principle town of County Kerry and is the centre of the North Kerry region. Tralee however, is consider small in comparison to other bustling towns in the county such as; Kenmare, Killarney, Killorglin, Listowel, Ballybunion, Caherciveen and Castleisland.

South Kerry is one of Ireland's best-known tourist destinations, which plays a significant role in County Kerry’s economy. South County Kerry is renowned world wide for the beauty of the Lakes of Killarney, Ring of Kerry, the Gap of Dunloe, its impressive coastline which ranges from rugged sheer cliffs to some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Ireland like Inch and Banna to, Ballybunion, Ventry, Fenit and Dingle. Off Kerry’s coast are a number of islands; the Blaskets, Valentia Island and Skellig Michael which is a World Heritage Site, famous for the medieval monastery clinging to the island's cliffs. Moving inland Kerry is one of the most mountainous regions of Ireland and contains the highest peak in the country. Carrauntoohil, part of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks stands at 1,038 metres.

The county also boasts one of Ireland's biggest Gaeltacht areas and the country's most successful football team. County Kerry has a strong sporting tradition and has regularly been All Ireland Football champions. County Kerry has also been home to many famous and historic figure heads such as; Daniel O’ Connell, John, B. Keane, Peig Sayers, Jackie Healy-Rae, Dick Spring, Tadhg Kennelly and Pat Spillane.

County Kerry is accessible by road, rail, sea and air. The main National Primary Routes into Kerry are the N21 and the N69 from Limerick and the N22 from Cork. Kerry is served by rail at Tralee, Farranfore, Killarney and Rathmore which connect to Cork and Dublin, via Mallow and Kerry Airport is located at Farranfore in the centre of the county. Flight destinations served are Dublin, London Stansted & London Luton and Frankfurt-Hahn.
